1)         2015 AKR Roster:  It is ongoing.  Please submit your roster in time, by the end of December, 2014.
From the AKR secretary,
·       The new GKR president is now Joseph Reid. The following message was announced on the 22nd of Dec., 2014.   The AKR would like to thank Cynthia for her serving as the GKR president and we look forward to working with Joseph, the new GKR president.

2)         Creating an AKR annual tournament:  There is a proposal from the AKR office for a national kyudo tournament.  Kato sensei has updated his idea to begin discussion for all of you:
<deleted>

The committee will provide an Excel sheet for keeping records and competition rules.
Events should occur twice a year such as: (Spring and Fall) or (Spring and AKR seminar Taikai).
  Rules:       8 arrows competitions.
No practice before competition except for makiwara.
Observers will record the results and archers will verify and sign.
Rules will be based on AKR competition requirements
The committee will recommend US team members for international events, based on the records from the competition

I would like to ask you to pay attention to the idea and bring up your thoughts.  Please contact Kato sensei and share your ideas.   Your participating in the project that will provide you different type of training chance is very much welcomed and appreciated.

3)    AKR website lead editor wanted!!  <deleted>

4)    Creating a translation committee group was suggested to the Translation Committee. There was a good and competent interpreters group at the 2013 Seminar in SC. If the AKR had a group of such competent and dedicated interpreters there could be even more translations to create even more useful information for AKR members. Such a group could contribute their work to the AKR website also.   We look forward to hearing from the committee in the near future.

5)         Report on the 2014 Special Kyudo Seminar in Tokyo <deleted>

From the ANKF: (excerpts from the Kyudo Magazine in general)

1)   Permission for translation has been asked to the ANKF.  It would not be possible to have full translation but I am hoping the ANKF would permit us to create a summary and translate it. (There is some translation of summarized articles from the Kyudo magazine.)

How to overcome "Hayake" by the late Morikawa sensei and Kyudo Magazine articles i general:
<deleted> (NCKF) has volunteered to translate this article for us.  It will take time since this is 6 pages of instructions.  I hope you will enjoy the article once it is translated.  He will probably divide the article into 2 to 3 parts.  The Kyudo magazine is re-introducing old articles every month that are useful for our kyudo study.    Once we hear from and get the guideline from the ANKF we should be able to introduce more articles, we hope.

The AKR office will welcome any other volunteers, especially the 2013 translation group members, who would try to challenge translating articles.  I believe that such translation certainly helps AKR members to deepen their kyudo study.

From the EKF (New):  Please see the attached file that is the 2014-2 of the EKF newsletter.

From the IKYF:

1)    No Renshi and Rokudan shinas in overseas:
The ANKF executive Committee has decided not to open both renshi and rokudan tests in overseas seminars.  The offical notice is as follows (in italic)

<summary of official communication by Mr. Takeo Ishikawa, President of All Nippon Kyudo Federation. (12/25/2014):  the note was addressed to the presidents of the AKR, and the EKF.
The decision by the ANKF executive committee is to only give Shodan thru Godan rank tests at the 2015 Special Shinsa.  Given the many requests for Renshi and Rokuan rank tests in Overseas Seminars the ANKF promises to reexamine this subject in the future.>

4)    ID renewal:  Thanks to your cooperation the 2014 IKYF ID renewal was completed.
